Near fine copy of stated first American edition in very good Brodarted dust jacket. There are two tiny dog tooth marks near lower right front cover, bottom of spine has been damp and is faded. Dust jacket has a 1" closed tear in upper left, top corners bumped, a ding to the front, one small stain on front and back, back rubbed, inside bottom of spine has a stain from the blue binding. The book has blue paper boards with blue cloth binding, gold lettering on spine. 389 pp. Author's third book, but first novel. The heck with Madison Avenue, off to France to live the good life.
