Near fine copy of later printing of 1929 first edition in very good Brodarted dust jacket. Book has bookplate of Muriel La Farge and is dated 12/1/51. Bottom of book spine is soft, top and bottom edges of text block are lightly soiled. Copyright page notes 1929 but no statement of first edition. Illustrated dust jacket is bright with the $3.00 price noted, chipped at tips and corners, a one inch closed tear to top right front, one inch closed tear to back top center, chips from top and bottom of spine, rubbed at edges, one quarter inch closed chip to center at fold to inside flap. 302 pp. La Farge's first novel, won Pulitzer Prize and was basis for a movie in the 1930's.
